As per discussed, idea generation can be easily attained through a lot of strategies and techniques. It can grow from a simple discussion into a brainstorming as long as you follow the rules and conditions of it.
Idea Generation has been a practice of people since ages. It came from the situations, driven by people for thinking, where everything must be logical and well explained. Scientifically, there are steps or ways of a good idea generation however, people are still looking at it as a free medium to think and to generate ideas.
Brainstorming per se, it has been a practice of schools, companies and even communities but without the use of set of standards or rules. It is not my first time to hear all the standards but people are doing this practice without even knowing what should be done first. In our class, these rules are built to be guidelines and to ensure the success of brainstorming.
Decision Making

In terms of Decision Making, we are being bound by reasons on why we need to take time on it. Decisions are based on facts, feelings and other relatively connected to it. It is a common scene in our lives where we are required to make decisions. By doing the sets of strategy, like the six thinking hats, we can say that we can decide on the things without doubting on it.
In general, decision making is discussed in Psychology courses because it is a mental or cognitive process. It is necessary for us to make decisions (using our brains) because we need to have an output that can be used in dealing other things.
In a nutshell, idea generation and decision making should work hand in hand in able for us to attain the result that we are looking for. We can use several techniques and not to rely too much on our basic instincts. The thing about these two important topics is we have to think and decide carefully for us to have an result that we are looking for.

Your post is a good summary of what we've been doing for the past weeks. I agree with what you said regarding idea generation and decision making working hand in hand because the process in between is important to make the ends meet. Also, you pointed out the importance of guidelines and rules in brainstorming that are usually forgotten by people to make things easier. This shouldn't be forgotten because the quality of the results you'll get will be better compared to those without standards and rules. :)
TumugonBurahinIdea generation, by far, was the most interesting topic for me. Like the activities we did in class, idea generation has allowed us to think freely and not be confined with what are socially acceptable as against those that aren't. Admittedly, the process of idea generation could sometimes be taxing, especially for us, whose papers have to be anchored on facts and results. Idea generation has allowed us to escape our habitual ways, and instead let the creative juices flow, therefore suspending our biases and judgements. The emphasis, after all, is in the quantity of ideas produced rather than the quality. -Joan Pasagui
